“The kids” class (1.5 hours) is for K to 6th grade, the topics cover awareness in the areas of bullying, predators and pedestrians safety. Our kid’s classes are fun, interactive, informative, empowering and age appropriate. We all know what to do if we catch on fire, Right?
Well our training is aimed at creating that same type of mental file for bullying, predator/stranger awareness and pedestrian safety. With the hands-on training we provide your child is are sure to walk away more aware, able to set boundaries, project confidence when they are adversely confronted and trust their “inter voice”. So many kids completing the class have felt more confident in dealing with the topics than before the class started.
The S.T.A.R. Concepts team will present the “Protect Your Power” assembly where children will learn through role-play to recognize the different types of bullying behaviors: teasing, excluding a child, name calling, etc. Verbal self-defense, zero tolerance, and “Safety Armor” will be discussed and demonstrated, along with what ‘normal conflict’ is. Students will also learn the importance of displaying confidence, remaining calm, reacting quickly, and using their voices to attract attention if necessary. Students will learn and demonstrate how children can help each other when experiencing bullying.
Through a balance of fun and creative content, students learn real life skills to combat relationship aggression, protect themselves from unwanted encounters/touching and protect themselves when walking home from school or playing in their neighborhoods.
Our goal is to increase and create an emotionally safe climate in their schools, homes and neighborhoods. Protective concepts are shown to students in role play scenarios, assemblies, and breakout sessions. That way children can both engage and break down the barriers of life’s challenges to navigating their ways through difficult situations. Students leave the presentation armed with relevant and applicable strategies that engage them in creating a culture of DIGNITY and SOCIAL COMPETENCE, sometimes hard to achieve in their socially pressured world.
Administrators, teachers, staff and parents have the opportunity to make a difference each day, now, don’t you think it is time for our kids to have a turn!
